Dead Media is a free app for physical media collectors on iPhone and Android. Scan the barcode on any 4K UHD, Blu-ray, or DVD and it lands on your shelf as the exact release: format, label, edition, and cover art. See your collection as a spine shelf, track what you have watched, rate discs, and buy, sell, and trade with other collectors.
Yes. Point the camera at the barcode and the disc is matched against a database of more than 100,000 physical releases. Bulk scan shelves a whole stack in one go, and anything without a barcode can be found by title.
Yes. Exports from Letterboxd, CLZ Movies, and My Movies can be imported from the website, so a collection you have spent years cataloging moves over in minutes.
4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD, each tracked separately, plus TV series shelved by season. Every entry on your shelf is a specific physical release rather than just a movie, so two editions of the same film are two discs. Steelbooks are tagged and box sets keep their discs together.
iPhone and Android. Dead Media is currently in beta through TestFlight on iOS and open testing on Google Play.
Collectors list discs, message each other inside the app, and settle the sale between themselves. Dead Media never handles payment or takes a cut. Sellers verify a phone number before they can list, and buyers rate sellers after a sale.
